PORTLAND – Seattle U baseball couldn't find a way to score outside of the second inning, falling to Portland, 2-8, Tuesday afternoon in Portland.
 
After the Pilots took a 1-0 lead after the bottom of the first, the Redhawks would respond in the second. Andrew Haight hit a scrafice fly that brought Jackson Reed home to score and the Julian Kodama hit another sacrifice fly that got Matt Boissoneault to score. Seattle U now led 2-1.
 
This would be the last inning of scoring for the Redhawks as they were held to just four hits over the next seven innings.
 
The Pilots would quickly take the lead back in the bottom of the second inning as they scored five runs in the inning to gain the 6-2 advantage. They would bring in two more in the fourth as they went on to win the ball game, 2-8.
 
In his sixth appearance on the season, Jarrod Billig went 1 and 1/3 inning while giving up five hits and six earned runs. The Redhawk Bullpen held up in the game, combining to go 6 and 2/3 inning and only giving up two runs while striking out six Pilots.
 
Next up for the Redhawks is a matchup with sixth ranked Oregon State tomorrow, March 23. First pitch in Corvallis is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
