2022 (FIFTH YEAR): Made 11 appearances out of the bullpen and two starts ... had a 2-1 record in 17 IP ... got the decision in the Redhawks first win of the season at UC San Diego (2/19), giving up just one hit in two innings pitched ... went 1.2 innings while giving up just one run, getting the win vs Sacramento State (3/18)
2021 (SENIOR): Shortened season due to injury ... made a relief appearance at Oregon (2/28) allowing two hits on two runs.
2020 (JUNIOR): Had a 3-2 record in five starts with a 4.07 ERA in the shortened season … led the pitching staff in wins, innings pitched (24.1) and strikeouts (22) … ranked fifth among NCAA Division I leaders in games started and 23rd in victories … tied-first among WAC leaders in wins, tied-eighth in strikeouts, 10th in innings pitched and 11th in K per 9 (8.14) … longest outing was a seven-inning performance at Boise State (3/6) that included six strikeouts … held Pacific hitless and without a run on Feb. 28, while striking out six in 6.0 innings.
2019 (SOPHOMORE): Started nine of 18 games and registered a 4-4 record … second among pitching staff leaders in ERA (4.43), while listed third in innings pitched (61.0) and fourth in strikeouts (39) … made eight appearances as a reliever before upgrading to a starting role with his first start on Mar. 24 against Utah Valley … longest outing was a 7.0-inning performance against Chicago State on May 3 … notched a career-best eight strikeouts during 6.1 innings at UTRGV on April 26.
2018 (FRESHMAN): Appeared in 14 games, starting six… struck out 17 batters in 28.1 innings pitched… had six appearances with zero earned runs, five of which were scoreless… had a season record of 1-3 and a 6.35 ERA… in his longest start, pitched five innings and struck out five, allowing three hits, one walk and one run vs. Puget Sound (4/23).
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Bishop Gorman HS in Las Vegas, Nev. … completed his prep career with a 7-1 record in 19 appearances and a 2.18 ERA in 2017 … struck out 67 batters in 61 innings during his senior season … Gaels played in the 2017 Nevada State Championship game … was the NIAA Class 4A Sunset Region Champion … earned First Team All-South Nevada, First Team All-Sunset Region and First Team All-State honors in 2017 … also a 2017 Rawlings/Perfect Game Preseason All-American … named team MVP in 2017 and Law Vegas Review Journal Athlete of the Week (4/19/17) … threw two no-hitters during his career.
