SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Seattle U women's tennis started its final road trip before Western Athletic Conference (WAC) play on Sunday against Cal Poly at the Mustang Tennis Complex in San Luis Obispo, California. The Mustangs got off to a fast start and never let up, winning 4-0 in a shortened match on their home courts.
Cal Poly opened the match by claiming the doubles point. Senior Hannah Grossman and junior Jade Lancaster (2-6) paired against Laura Bente and Peyton Dunkle, while freshman Mireia Fehr and Jade Quintana (0-6). The remaining doubles match went unfinished as the Mustangs had already won the point.
In singles play, Grossman (2-6, 1-6) squared off against Emily Ackerman, while senior Aranza Alvarez Sanabria fell in indential sets of 1-6, 1-6, to Delanie Dunkle and senior Jillian Rasmussen (0-6, 0-6) dropped her match against Peyton Dunkle. The remaining singles matches went unfinished as Cal Poly had already clinched the victory.
The Redhawks will stay in San Luis Obispo one more day to face off against Santa Clara at the Mustang Tennis Center with doubles play beginning at 11 a.m.
