Jocelyn Sets Two School Records at WSU Open & Invite

Senior Tricht Jocely breaks the school record in the 60m and 200m, while the Redhawks set another three new top ten marks and posted 13 personal bests (PRs).

SPOKANE, Wash. - Seattle U track and field took to the road Friday, competing in its sole meet outside of Seattle at the Washington State Indoor Open & Invite in Spokane, Wash., at The Podium. Senior Tricht Jocelyn was the star of the show for the Redhawks, setting new school records in both the 60m and 200m, while overall the Redhawks set another three new top ten marks and posted 13 personal bests (PRs).

"Tricht has been building her form throughout the indoor season," said Assistant Coach Chad Pharis. "She is putting it together at a great time as we build towards the WAC Indoor Championships."

Jocelyn set the new school record of 7.76 in the 60m prelims and finished 8th overall in the event. She continued her record breaking pace into the 200m, setting a new record time of 25.31, which was good enough for ninth overall. She beats the records set by Alyssa Gonzales in the 60m (7.79 in 2016) and fellow teammate Regie Grady in the 200m (25.59 in 2020).

Also on the track, junior Ansel Pendley-Griffin was 24 milliseconds off setting a new PR in the 800m, finishing fifth overall with a time of 1:55.82. 

The list of PRs, school records and top ten marks are as follows:
Justin Blunden- new PR in the 400m.
Rowan Cuadrado- new PR in the mile.
Conor Flaharty- new PR in the 200m.
Lilianne Hargreaves- new PR in the mile. 
Tricht Jocelyn- new school records in the 60m and 200m, 200m time is also a PR. 
Xavier Kelley- new PR in the high jump, improving seventh all-time mark.
Kai Little- new PR in the shot put, improving third all-time mark. 
Taylor Marks- new PR in the 200m which is 10th all-time
Fiona O'Leary- new PR in the mile.
Adahra Poasa- new PR in the mile. 
Alyssa Recasner- new PR in the 60m.
Abby Smith- new PR in the 3000m.
Brant Yamamoto- new PR in the 200m.

Seattle U's next scheduled meet has them competing at the Husky Classic next weekend from Feb. 11-12 at the Dempsey Indoor Center.
