HOUSTON, Texas  – The Seattle U Redhawks started the WAC Championships with some strong relays, setting the stage for the four-day meet. Seattle U set six new all-time top-ten times total.
 
The Redhawks had three new top-ten relay times in their four swims today. That start with Lydia Genson, Danika Himes, Sammy Mosier, and Allison Plamondon swimming a 1:45.43 in the 200 Medley Relay, good for the fourth-fastest time in Seattle U history.
 
The men's team of Will Corona, Connor Barringer, Cole Lanting, and Michael Luna swam a 6:44:58 in the 800 Free Relay, the eighth-best time in program history. The women's team of Genson, Maggie Robben, Emilia Culberson, and Cassie Koester swam a 7:35.44 in that event, the fourth-best time in program history.

Individually, Genson's 1:52.74 to lead off the 800 Free Relay was the seventh-fastest in Seattle U history for the 200 Free. Corona's 1:39.92 to lead off the 800 Free Relay on the men's side was the fifth-fastest 200 Free time in Seattle U history. Tessa Oliver also swam a 1:06.00 in the 100 Breast time trial, good for the seventh-best time in Seattle U history and setting a new personal best by 0.12 seconds.

Sammy Mosier also qualified for the National Invitational Championships A cut with a 58.72 in the 100 IM time trial.
 
The Redhawks are back in action tomorrow with the 500 Free, 200 IM, 50 Free, and 200 Free Relay.
 
There are three days left in the WAC Championships. Each of the next three days will have prelims begin at 8:30 am PT and finals begin at 4:00 pm PT.
