Milne Sets School Record in 60m Hurdles at UW Invitational

Lucas Milne posts the a new school record in the 60m hurdles while the Redhawks set another 11 top ten marks and 18 PRs.

SEATTLE - Seattle U track and field continued its 2022 indoor season this weekend as it took part in the UW Invitational at the Dempsey Indoor Center on the campus of Washington. Junior Lucas Milne started the two day event by setting a new school record in the 60m hurdles, while overall the Redhawks set another 11 new top ten marks and posted 18 personal bests (PRs).
Milne passes a 14 year old record that was held by d'Andre Benjamin with his new time of 8.64 which is .11 faster than the previous record. The native of Kailua, Hawaii, also improved his PR in the long jump with a new mark of 6.45m (21' 2") that moved him up the list from sixth to third all-time. 

On Friday, Seattle U set three new top ten marks in the distance medley relay as the team of Alex Franklin, Isaiah Payne, Matthew Holme and James Parker set the third all-time mark, while on the women's side the team of Maya McCabe, Taylor Marks, Ellie Postma and Fiona O'Leary set the fourth all-time mark. The team of Marie-Therese Chahrouri, Chloe Deleissegues, Lilianne Hargreaves and Rowan Cuadrado also set the tenth all-time mark in the same race.

Junior Isaiah Payne qualified for the finals in the 60m dash, placing fifth overall with a time of 7.02. He got off to a fast pace in the finals but was cutoff by a runner out of their lane that impacted his final's time. Sophomore Shannon Sadler had a good day in the field events as she set a new PR in the long jump and would later go on to set the fifth all-time mark in the triple jump with a jump of 11.09m (36' 4.75").

Chloe Deleissegues- new PR in the long jump.
Amadeus Eckart- new PR in the 400m and long jump.
Conor Flaharty- new PR in the 400m. 
Tricht Jocelyn- improves fourth all-time top ten mark in the 60m.
Xavier Kelley- new PR in the long jump and improves seventh all-time mark in high jump.
Sebbie Law- new PR in the 400m.
Taylor Marks- new PR in the 400m.
Maya McCabe- new PR in the 400m which is fifth all-time.
Lucas Milne- sets school record in the 60m hurdles and improves long jump mark from sixth to third all-time.
James Parker- new PR in the mile.
Noah Payne- new PR in the 200m.
Ansel Pendley-Griffin- new PR in the 800m that improves his all-time mark from ninth to seventh.
Bryana Rogers- new PR in the long jump and posts the eighth all-time triple jump mark.
Shannon Sadler- new PR in the triple jump which is fifth all-time and new PR in the long jump.
Brant Yamamoto- new PR in the 60m which is ninth all-time.
Distance Medley Relay team- Alex Franklin, Isaiah Payne, Matthew Holme and James Parker set third all-time mark.
Distance Medley Relay team- Maya McCabe, Taylor Marks, Ellie Postma and Fiona O'Leary set fourth all-time mark.

Seattle U will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 4, as they start competition at the Washington State Indoor Open & Invite in Spokane, Washington.
