It was a busy winter break for the Redhawks, who had numerous athletes competing around the country. Jack Neton competed at the U.S. Open Championships, swimming the 200 Breast. Nicholas Imig swam the 50 Free at Winter Junior Nationals, setting a new lifetime best. Cole Lanting also swam at the Winter Junior Nationals: Lanting had lifetime bests in the 200 IM and the 200 Free, then swam the fastest 100 Free time for a freshman in Seattle U history. Olivia Lautman rounded out the busy winter, competing at the U.S. Para Swimming Nationals.
This will be Seattle U's first action since a three-day meet against Simon Fraser in December. At that meet, the Redhawks swam 11 total all-time top-ten times. That included Lanting swimming the third-fastest time ever in the 100 Free for the Redhawks. Sammy Mosier had the third-fastest 100 Fly time at that meet as well.
It'll be a busy weekend for the Redhawks. Competition begins at 10:00 am PT on January 15 with the 200 Medley Relay, 500 Free, 200 IM, 50 Free, and 200 Free Relay. The second session on January 15, beginning around 5:00 pm PT, will feature the 400 IM, 100 Fly, 200 Free, 100 Breast, 100 Back, and 800 Free Relay. Sunday's competition will have the 400 Medley Relay, 1000 Free, 200 Back, 100 Free, 200 Breast, and 200 Fly before the weekend ends with the 400 Free Relay.
