THE HOT HAND

Courtney Murphy scored 21 points against Sacramento State, her fifth career 20+ point outing. Murphy's last 20-point outing was December 20, 2019, when she scored exactly 20 against Cal Poly. Murphy has only scored more twice in here career: 22 against Idaho on November 20, 2019, and 33 against Chicago State on January 24, 2019. That 33-point outing was at the time the highest-scoring individual game by a Redhawk in Seattle U Division I history and is now third, behind McKenzi Williams' 36-point game and Joana Alves' 34, both in 2020.

YOU CAN'T SPELL POINT GUARD WITHOUT "POINT"

Bree Calhoun had 18 points at Sacramento State, a season-high for the point guard. Calhoun nearly had her fourth career 20-point game. Calhoun last scored more against UTRGV: mshe scored 23 on February 19, 2020, then 20 on February 20, both against UTRGV, and had 23 against Montana last December. Calhoun is now averaging 11 PPG in non-conference games in her career.

DIALING IT UP FROM DISTANCE

Irena Korolenko has made at least one three pointer in every game this year and has made multiple in three of four games. She had eight games with multiple three pointers last season. Korolenko is one of nine players in the WAC to average at least four 3PTA per game and shoot over 42% from the arc. She is 11th in the league in 3PTM per game: only two players are average more made threes with fewer attempts per game than Korolenko thus far.

BOARD WORK

The Redhawks are third in the WAC in rebounds per game, just 3.5 RPG behind conference-leader Dixie State's 47.5 mark. Seattle U has outrebounded the opposition in three of four games thus far, including two games in which Seattle U had 50+ rebounds. In 22 games last season, the Redhawks had just three games of 50+ rebounds. Seven different Redhawks are averaging at least 3 RPG thus far.

RAINING THREES

Courtney Murphy needs seven more three pointers to become the fourth Redhawk ever with 150 or more in their career. She would join Kaylee Best (195), Ashley Payne (168), and Jessie DeLauney (153) in that regard. Murphy has made at least one three in 51 of her 58 career games and has made multiple in 44 games.

BENCH DOES BEST

The Redhawks have had their bench outscored the opposition in three of four games this season. Seattle U's bench has scored at least 30 twice and scored 29 once. Six times the Redhawks have had a bench player scored at least eight, with two double-digit scoring performances off the bench already: Bree Calhoun's 18 at Sacramento State and Taliyah Clark's 14 against Northwest. In all, Seattle U's bench is averaging 28 PPG.

GETTING BUCKETS

McKenzi Williams moved past the 700-point mark in her career last week and has now scored in double figures in three of four games this year. Since the beginning of the 2020-21 season, Williams has single-digit points in just four of 29 games. In road games since the start of 2020-21, Williams is averaging 17 PPG.

REBOUNDS!

Chinwe Ezeonu is closing in on 300 career rebounds, needing just one more. She has recorded 140+ rebounds in each of her two years at Seattle U, including a career-best 149 last year. Ezeonu tied for the team lead in rebounds last year with Georgia Kehoe. If either of them were to lead the team in rebounds this year, they would be the sixth Redhawk to do so in back-to-back years, joining Alexis Montgomery, Taelor Ross, Kacie Sowell, and Laina Sobczak.
