Women's Tennis Releases 2021-22 Schedule

SEATTLE - Seattle U women's tennis has released its 2021-22 season schedule, featuring two fall tournaments and 20 spring matches. The all-important Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Tournament, taking place from Apr. 21-24 in Beaumont, Tex., concludes the Redhawk's season.

SEATTLE - Seattle U women's tennis has released its 2021-22 season schedule, featuring two fall tournaments and 20 spring matches. The all-important Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Tournament, taking place from Apr. 21-24 in Beaumont, Tex., concludes the Redhawk's season.
 
"I am extremely excited to welcome all our new athletes to the team," said Head Coach Kristina Hollander. "We are all looking forward to the tournaments we have planned, especially because we did not get the opportunity to do this last year. We are pumped for this season and can't wait to get started."
 
The women open their fall slate with the Cougar Classic, hosted by Washington State, in Spokane, Wash., from Sep. 24-26 and conclude their fall tournament schedule with the ITA Regional Championships from Oct. 22-26 in Palo Alto, Calif.
 
The Redhawks open the spring season with a trip to Pullman, Wash., for a matchup with Washington State on Jan. 16 and then spend three consecutive weekends on the road, starting with Utah and Montana on Jan. 22 and 23 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The following weekend sends them to Bozeman, Mont., for matches against Montana State and Oral Roberts on Jan. 28 and 29. This stretch of road matches concludes with three matches in three days, starting with South Dakota on Feb. 4, followed by Gonzaga on Feb. 5, with both matches taking place in Spokane. The road trip ends with a matchup against Eastern Washington in Cheney, Wash., on Feb. 6.

SU then returns home for its only non-conference home match of the season, taking place on Feb. 13 against UC Irvine in the Amy Yee Tennis Center. Six days later, the Redhawks are back on the road as they head to Eugene, Ore., for a matchup with Oregon on Feb. 19 and then return to Seattle for a match against Washington on Feb. 23. The Redhawks will enjoy a weekend off before heading to Las Vegas, Nev., for matches against UNLV and Portland on Mar. 4 and 5 and conclude their non-conference schedule with a trip to San Luis Obispo, Calif., for matches against Cal Poly, Santa Clara and Fresno Pacific on Mar. 20, 21 and 24, respectively.
 
WAC cluster play begins Apr. 1-3 when SU hosts Grand Canyon and Chicago State in Seattle at the Amy Yee Tennis Center. The final WAC cluster sends them to Phoenix, Ariz., for matchups against Dixie State and NM State on Apr. 14 and 15.
 
Seattle U welcomes four new freshman in Liliya Dimova, Mireia Fehr, Elena Kraleva and Jade Quintana. Returning this year are redshirt freshman Safija Nizamic, junior Jade Lancaster and seniors Aranza Alvarez Sanabria, Martina Asciuto, Hannah Grossman, Jillian Rasmussen and Alisa Sabotic.
