BOULDER CITY, Nev. - Seattle U women's golf ended its spring season on Wednesday, competing in the final round of the Western Athletic Conference Championships at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev. Seattle U finished in third place, posting a team score of 38-over 902. Taking home the team title was New Mexico State with a stroke total of 9-over, while Utah Valley's Victoria Estrada won the individual title.
Leading the way for SU was senior Kimberlee Tottori, finishing in a tie for third place at 2-over (71-72-75) and leading all golfers in par three scoring at 3-under. This was Tottori's best performance of the year as she ends with two top-10 performances.
"Although this is not what we might have hoped for as a team, a huge congratulations goes out to Kimberlee for finishing off her career on such a high note," said Head Coach Marc Chandonnet. "She has been such a joy to be around and has represented the program in a first class way."
Behind Tottori, was senior Keisha Lugito (75-76-77) and sophomore Megan Kelly (78-75-75) as they tie for 15th place, while junior Samantha Bruce finished with a three round total of 232 (76-75-81). Rounding out the team score for SU was sophomore Azumi Arai who finished with a three round score of 235 (75-80-80).
"I am so appreciative of all our seniors," said Chandonnet. "These women have truly given their all to this program and we have had so many great moments together. I also want to send a special thank you to all of the families, supporters and SU staff that were able to attend the championships this week and provide us with that much needed morale boost."
