BOULDER CITY, Nev. - Seattle U women's golf will travel to Boulder City, Nev., on Monday to compete in the Western Athletic Conference Championships at the Boulder Creek Golf Club. The three day event will be held from Apr. 19-21 on the 6,395 yards course with a par of 72.
Seattle U is coming off its best team performance of the season, earning second place at the Bobcat Invitational where it also took home the individual trophy and placed four Redhawks in the top-20. SU has shown its quality this spring, competing in five tournaments with three top-5 team scores. The Redhawks enter the week ranked at No.121 in the latest GolfStat rankings with New Mexico State being the highest ranking WAC member at 67, while GCU holds the 78th spot and Utah Valley ranks all the way down at 169.
"Everything we have done to prepare all year is for this opportunity," said Head Coach Marc Chandonnet. "We are starting to play some fantastic golf, leading to some difficult decisions that had to be made in regards to our lineup. I know we are capable of winning this tournament even though it feels like we are the underdog."
Seattle U's competitive roster will include seniors Kimberlee Tottori and Keisha Lugito, junior Samantha Bruce and sophomores Azumi Arai and Megan Kelly.
Samantha Bruce has been performing better and better as the season has progressed.
