PHOENIX, Ariz. - Seattle U women's golf is scheduled to tee off its 2021 schedule when they travel to Phoenix, Ariz., to take on a very strong field at the Grand Canyon University Invitational. The two-day event is scheduled to take place at GCU Golf Course from March 1-2. The Redhawks will look to continue upon their strong performance here last year as they finished 4th out of 14 teams and senior Kimberlee Tottori finished in second place with a score of 4-under 140.
"This is by far one of the most competitive teams I have ever had the pleasure of coaching," said Head Coach Marc Chandonnet. "We have nine athletes that I would be confident in traveling to an event with. I'd like to congratulate those who did make the top five through our qualifying events and we are all very excited to get the season started. We have very high hopes as a group but we are making sure to take it one day at a time. We understand how important the process is and we are just trying to remain focused on that."
The Redhawks will be competing against golfers from UC Riverside, Eastern Washington, Northern Arizona, Montana State, Southern Utah, UTEP, Idaho, North Dakota State, CSU Bakersfield, California Baptist, UTRGV, Utah Valley, South Dakota and the hosts Grand Canyon. Seattle U will send seniors Kimberlee Tottori, Keisha Lugito and Krystal Hu, junior Samantha Bruce and sophomore Megan Kelly.
