SEATTLE - Seattle U women's golf is looking forward to competing again after they lost the entire spring portion of their 2020 season. Head Coach Marc Chandonnet has put together a condensed yet strong schedule that includes five tournaments, taking place from the end of February to early May. The year will conclude with the Western Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship in Boulder City, Nev., on Apr. 22-25. Two years ago, the Redhawks tied for first place overall in this tournament; now this veteran squad feels that they have a good chance to win the title outright.
First, the Redhawks will head to Phoenix, Ariz., from Feb. 28-Mar. 2 to compete in the Grand Canyon University Invitational for the second straight year. The Redhawks have shown they can perform well here as last year they were lead by a strong performance from senior, Kimberlee Tottori, who finished in second place overall and helped secure a top-five finish for the program.
Eight days later, they pack up their bags and head to St. George, Utah, from Mar. 10-12 to participate in the Pizza Hut Invitational hosted by Southern Utah University. The following weekend, has them flying out to Sedona, Ariz., to take part in Red Rocks Invitational hosted by Northern Arizona University. The Arizona competitions continue as they will return to the state to compete in the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic from Apr. 4-6 in Maricopa, Ariz. They end the regular season with a new tournament, the Bobcat Desert Classic, hosted by Montana State, on Apr. 11-13 in Goodyear, Ariz.
This year, Seattle U debuts one newcomer in transfer Megan Kelly. The returners include sophomore Azumi Arai, junior Samantha Bruce, and seniors Nicole Foster, Vendela From, Krystal Hu, Keisha Lugito, Kimberlee Tottori, and Anne Transier.
