SEATTLE – Seattle U women's golf begins spring play on Saturday, Feb. 22, hoping to build off of their successful fall season with a strong showing at the GCU Invitational. The tournament, hosted at the par-72 GCU Golf Course in Phoenix, will last for two days, with two rounds of 18 holes on Saturday and one round of 18 on Sunday. Tee times will begin at 7:00 a.m PT on both days.
 
At the tournament, the Redhawks will face golfers from California Baptist, CSU Bakersfield, Eastern Washington, Grand Canyon, Hawai'i, North Dakota State, Northern Arizona, Portland State, Southern Utah, UC Riverside, UTEP and Utah Valley. GolfStat ranks Seattle U second-highest as a team in the field.
 
"We are excited to start our championship season, and I am confident that the team is especially hungry this year," said Head Coach Marc Chandonnet. "They've been working hard and have become internally competitive as a group, which can only have a positive impact on our growth as a team. I want to give a special acknowledgement to (sophomore) Samantha Bruce, who has really stepped up her game coming out of the offseason and raised the level of everyone around her. Now that the spring season is here, it's time for all of us to stay focused on competing in the moment."
