A back and forth second half turned to a defensive battle for both sides with SU keeping CSUB to 35 percent shooting from the field. Clutch shots from Mattia Da Campo, Riley Grigsby, Delante Jones, and a pair of free-throws from Morgan Means saw the Redhawks take the lead to 52-46 at the 4:03 mark, however CSUB’s Markel Joiner and Rickey Holden took the `Runners on a 8-0 run down the stretch, making two tough shots in traffic, to give the visitors the lead 54-52 with just 13 seconds on the clock. SECURING A WINNING SEASON
Seattle U’s 63-57 win over CSU Bakersfield marked win No. 17 on the season, which solidifies a second straight winning season under second-year Head Coach Jim Hayford. In 2017-18, the Redhawks went 20-14 overall. The winning campaign marks the fifth time the program has finished with an above .500 record since 2008-09, which marked the return to Division I. The 2008-09 Redhawks went 21-8, but did not complete against a full Division I slate during that first transition season. Seattle U went 17-14 in 2009-10 and 18-16 in 2014-15.

FOUR IN DOUBLE FIGURES
Seattle U had four players score in double figures on Thursday night versus CSU Bakersfield, marking the fourth time in the last five games that the team has achieved the feat. The Redhawks are 11-4 on the season when four or more players score in double-figures.

ENTERING THE SEATTLE U RECORD BOOK
Terrell Brown and Myles Carter have been working their way into Seattle U’s all-time record book for marks they have achieved during the 2018-19 season. Brown has amassed 140 assists through 30 games, which ties Andre Lang (1993-94) for the No. 10 spot in the program’s single-season record book. He needs just four more assists to reach the No. 8 position, achieved twice by Dave Anderson (1981-82 and 1983-84). Carter’s 58 blocked shots through 30 games not only leads the WAC, but also ranks No. 2 in a single-season at SU. Aaron Menzies (2017-18) holds the all-time record of 79.

EYING 400
Seattle U Head Coach Jim Hayford entered the 2018-19 season with 380 career victories over the course of his 19-year career. In his 20th season as a head coach, he has led the Redhawks to a 17-13 mark through 30 games, bringing his career wins total to 397. Hayford now needs just three more wins to hit the 400 mark for his career.
