NORMAN, Okla. – Seattle U's recently graduated men's golfer Joe Harvie was among those honored as a 2018 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Wednesday.

“I want to thank Joe for his four years of dedication to being the model student-athlete," said Head Coach Marc Chandonnet. "I do not believe our program would have been as successful without him and I’ll always be thankful for his efforts both on and off the course.”

The GCAA honored a new record number of student-athletes as All-America Scholars including 265 in Division I, 126 in Division II and 23 in NAIA. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.

Harvie completed his senior season on the Redhawk men's golf team this past spring. He maintained a 73.4 stroke average during the 2017-18 campaign, closing out the season with four consecutive top-10 finishes, including a tie for seventh at the Western Athletic Conference Championship.

He graduated from Seattle U in June after maintaining better than a 3.8 cumulative GPA. He earned WAC All-Academic Team honors for the third time in his career while this also marks his second straight year as an GCAA All-America Scholar.
