“This was a great team win today,” said head coach Adam Reeb. “Winning doubles is so important in close matches like this, and I was happy we were able to execute in that area because it’s been a focal point in practice. After winning the first point, our top three were able to come out and play solid singles matches to earn the win. We’re looking forward to playing a tough Air Force team tomorrow morning. Playing here is a test of how we can adjust to different conditions, so we’re looking forward to the opportunity to compete again tomorrow.”
The Redhawks won the first point, winning both doubles matches to finish in the No. 1 and No. 3 spots. Seattle U continued to increase their point tally with three straight singles wins in the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 spots to clinch the match. The Rams followed with three singles wins after the Redhawks had already clinched the victory.
Seattle U closes the weekend of competition with a match at Air Force on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 9 a.m. PT.
