“We competed pretty well overall today,” said head coach Adam Reeb. “We got our first point against a Pac-12 opponent since going back to Division I, so that was encouraging. We played better this weekend than last, which is always our goal. We implemented and worked on some things in practice this week that we executed better this weekend which was great to see. The season is long and just getting started, but the most important thing is that we continue to improve and enjoy the process of getting better and also playing for each other and SU. I’m happy for Connor in getting his singles win. He played very well and deserved it.
Connor Leahy (Portland, Ore.) earned a win in exciting fashion over Oregon’s Ethan Young-Smith, 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8), the team’s first point vs. a Pac-12 team since returning to Division I.
Over the next three weeks, the Redhawks will make two trips to Portland following a trip to Eastern Washington next weekend, facing the Eagles on Saturday, Jan. 23.
