“The scores were not necessarily reflective of some of the matches,” said head coach Adam Reeb. “We played tough on many of the courts, but we just could not capitalize on the big points. I give credit to UW for stepping up and taking those points. This was a tough match to open the spring season with, but it’s only going to make us better. We’ve got a quick turnaround now with our spring home opener vs. Eastern Washington tomorrow morning. We’re looking forward to a really competitive match and are excited for the challenge.”
Kelli Woodman (Denver, Colo.) and Michelle Lui (Bellevue, Wash.) had the Redhawks’ best chances to beat the Huskies in singles while Kristen James (Lubbock, Texas) and Kailyn Skjonsby (Grapeview, Wash.) as a duo had the best doubles game for SU.
Seattle U dropped to 1-1 in duals after defeating Pacific Lutheran in a dual this fall. They continue competition this weekend with their first home match vs. Eastern Washington on Sunday, Jan. 10 at 10:30 a.m.
