PHOENIX, Ariz. – Seattle University women’s tennis won one of three doubles matches but dropped the initial point before falling in five of six singles matches as University of Missouri-Kansas City earned the 6-1 win.

Madison Maloney (Idaho Falls, Idaho) and Barbara Carey (Seattle, Wash.) earned an 8-4 victory at No. 2 doubles to close out doubles play after the point had already been decided with wins by the ‘Roos in the No. 1 and No. 3 spots.

Kailyn Skjonsby (Grapeview, Wash.) earned a victory at No. 6 singles in the last match to finish but UMKC had already clinched the match with a 6-0 jump start as the Redhawks fell 6-1.

Seattle U closes the weekend in Phoenix as well as the regular season with a match versus host Grand Canyon on Sunday morning at 11 a.m.
