OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Seattle University men’s tennis defeated Chicago State on Friday for the program’s first Division I postseason victory since the return of the program, but their season would ultimately end in a 4-0 loss to No. 1 New Mexico State in the Western Athletic Conference semifinals.

John Stormans (Olympia, Wash.) and Connor Leahy (Portland, Ore.) earned a win in the No. 3 spot, the first doubles match to finish, but the Aggies would follow up with two straight doubles wins to clinch the first point and take a 1-0 lead.

NMSU would clinch the match on three straight singles wins following in the No. 4, No. 6, and No. 5 spots, respectively.

The Redhawks lose just one senior to graduation, Riley Newman (Whidbey Island, Wash.), and will return the majority of a young team, looking to build upon this year’s success in 2015-16.
