SU to Close Regular Season at Home for Third Straight Year: The Redhawks enjoy closing the regular season in the confines of their home field for the third straight year after hosting Grand Canyon last season and Louisiana Tech in 2013. After a five-game homestand to start the month of April, Seattle University softball hosted No. 19 Washington amidst a stretch in which they played five of six games on the road. The Redhawks return home for the final weekend of the regular season to host CSU Bakersfield in a three-game conference series, which will be broadcast on the WAC Digital Network, viewable online and on iPhone/tablet (www.wacsports.com/watch).

Senior Day: This year’s senior class will be honored for their careers and contributions to the Redhawk softball program following Saturday’s game. Jenny Hurst, Bubba Morrow, Lisa Maulden, and Mandie Sugita will be honored in a postgame ceremony.

WAC Tournament Tickets Now on Sale: Fans can now purchase tickets to the WAC softball tournament in Las Cruces, N.M. next month (May 7-9) on Ticketmaster, by phone at (575) 646-1420, or at the NM State Softball Complex all days during the tournament. An all-session pass is $25 for adults, $10 for youth/WAC students and a single day pass is $12 for adults, $5 for youth/WAC students.

Hit Parade: Paige Bouska recorded a team-high 15-game hitting streak from Mar. 21 vs. Loyola Marymount to Apr. 17 vs. Kansas City.

Up Next and Looking Ahead: This weekend marks the Redhawks’ final regular season contests of 2015, also wrapping up Western Athletic Conference play. All five eligible teams (CSU Bakersfield, Seattle U, UMKC, Utah Valley, and New Mexico State) will advance to the WAC Tournament hosted by NM State in Las Cruces, N.M. from May 7-9.

Bubba Morrow Clinches Seattle U Career Doubles Record: Morrow gained the top spot in Seattle University’s all-time career doubles records (36 as of 4/13) with a two-base hit in the third inning of game two vs. Portland State on Apr. 1, surpassing the previous record (32) set by Allegra Wilde (2010-13). Lisa Maulden (34) and Jenny Hurst (30) are also closing in on top spots in the same category.

Climbing the Ladder: Lisa Maulden (34) and Jenny Hurst (30) are also closing in on top spots in SU’s all-time career doubles while Morrow currently sits in second place (31) in SU career home runs (record: 37, Jane Purdy, 2005-08) and second place (125) in career RBI (record: 162, Jane Purdy). Maulden currently ranks third in career RBI (100).

Morrow Named GoSeattleU.com Featured Student-Athlete (Apr. 6-12): Bubba Morrow was named Featured Student-Athlete of the Week, averaging .500 at the plate in three starts, recording three runs on three hits, two doubles, and five RBI in a series win at Utah Valley. Among starters, she led the team in slugging percentage (.833) and on base percentage (.727) over the three-game series.

Scouting CSU Bakersfield: The Roadrunners have found success over the last two weekends, taking two of three from Grand Canyon (Apr. 10-11) before handing WAC-leader New Mexico State their first conference loss of the season, 3-0, on Apr. 18. Kelsie Monroe picked up her second career WAC Pitcher of the Week honor this week, going 1-1 with a 0.00 ERA and 11 strikeouts over 14.0 innings of work vs. NMSU last weekend. She picked up her sixth shutout of the season in the win over NMSU on Apr. 18, who was previously unbeaten in league play this season. Monroe leads the CSUB pitching staff in the circle this season with a 2.47 ERA, 13-9 record, and 101 strikeouts in 17 complete games and 27 appearances. At the plate, Madison Bundy owns a team-high .357 average with 18 runs on 30 hits as well as eight doubles, three home runs, and 10 RBI.
