The Redhawks evened the tally in doubles play, winning in the No. 3 spot, but ultimately dropped the opening point. The Lopes took a 2-0 lead with the first singles win before Matt Alderson (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) and John Stormans (Olympia, Wash.) tied the match with wins at No. 6 and No. 2, respectively.
Finishing out the match with three straight singles wins, the ‘Lopes would fend off the Seattle U attack and earn a 5-2 win in Western Athletic Conference play.
