CHICAGO, Ill. – Seattle University men’s tennis earned a singular doubles win but ultimately dropped the doubles point as well as five of six singles matches to allow New Mexico State the 6-1 win in Western Athletic Conference play.

In the No. 2 spot, Tanner Berkabile (Las Vegas, Nev.) and Matt Alderson (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) earned a doubles win in the first match to finish but the Aggies followed with two doubles wins to pick up the doubles point and take an early 1-0 lead.

Riley Newman (Whidbey Island, Wash.) earned a straight sets victory at No. 1 singles over Strahinja Trecakov but NM State had already clinched the victory and would ultimately win the match, 6-1.

The Redhawks close the weekend and the regular season vs. UTPA on Saturday, Apr. 11 and Grand Canyon on Sunday, Apr. 12. The Western Athletic Conference tournament will take place in Kansas City, Mo. from Apr. 24-26.
