Seattle U stranded two Red Raiders on base in the first inning but the top of the second would prove fatal as Texas Tech drove home five on two Redhawk errors, all with two outs.
Rose Saenz (San Gabriel, Calif.) put SU on the board in the bottom of the third, opening the inning with a solo home run as the Redhawks trailed, 5-1, through the bottom of the fifth.
Driving home the first runs in the fifth, Isabella Geronimo (San Mateo, Calif.) added two for the Redhawks on an RBI single and a Red Raider fielding error before Molly Campbell (San Diego, Calif.) ran home to end the inning as SU trailed by one, 5-4.
The Red Raiders would keep the Redhawks at bay with a two-run homer to left center by Brittany Warnecke in the sixth and an RBI single to center from Lea Hopson in the seventh to win, 8-4.
In the circle, Cara Custer picked up the complete game win for Texas Tech allowing four runs on five hits while walking one and striking out five in seven innings pitched. For Seattle U, in the six-inning outing, Mandie Sugita (Rossmoor, Calif.) was handed the loss allowing seven runs, two earned, on seven hits while walking one and striking out four. Alyssa Reuble (Lynnwood, Wash.) entered in relief allowing the final run on four hits in an inning of work.
