After dropping the doubles point, Seattle University men’s tennis would ultimately fall, 7-0, to Illinois State to close their home season.

The Redbirds’ Dylan Steffens and Christoffer Greve secured the doubles point with a 6-1 win over Matt Alderson (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) and Ian Clare (Sachse, Texas). ISU would subsequently win each of the following six singles matches to clinch the sweep.

Prior to the match, senior Riley Newman (Whidbey Island, Wash.) was honored in his final home match in Redhawk uniform.

Despite finishing their home season, Seattle U remains in the Emerald City for the remainder of the week, facing Washington in a pair of matches starting at 4 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 15. The Redhawks will take their annual Spring Break competition trip to Las Vegas from Mar. 22-Mar. 25.
