COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Abilene Christian won the doubles point and would win four of six singles matches to earn a 5-2 win over Seattle University men’s tennis in a neutral site match at the U.S. Air Force Academy.

In singles competition, Riley Newman (Whidbey Island, Wash.) earned a win, 7-6, 4-6, 7-6, over Guilherme Gesser at No. 1 singles. In the No. 5 singles spot, Connor Leahy (Portland, Ore.) also topped Paul Domanski, 6-3, 6-2, in straight sets.

Leahy and John Stormans (Olympia, Wash.) won at No. 3 doubles, but Abilene Christian won doubles matches in the top two spots to clinch the first point.

Seattle U is set to host Idaho on Monday, Mar. 9 (4 pm PT) and Illinois State on Tuesday, Mar. 10 (2 pm PT). UI and ISU will play a neutral site match on Monday at 10:45 am PT prior to the Redhawks/Vandals match.
