BOISE, Idaho – Seattle University women’s tennis would drop the doubles point and ultimately fall in four of six singles matches as Weber State came away with the 5-2 win.
Each team would take a doubles match as it would come down to the No. 2 match. Barbara Carey () and Madison Maloney () would take Romy Dodd-Stephens and Dominique Beauvais to a tiebreaker, but the Wildcats would ultimately clinch the first point with a 7-6 (7) win in the decision match.
The Redhawks and Wildcats would each win one of the first two singles matches to finish but Weber State would extend their lead to 5-1 with three more singles wins.
Maloney would win at No. 3 singles but the match had already been decided as the Redhawks fell, 5-2.
The Redhawks return home next weekend with a match vs. Idaho at Sand Point Tennis Center on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 2:30 pm before hosting Portland State the following weekend.
