New Mexico State was picked to win the league title while the 2014 WAC Regular Season title winners, Grand Canyon, were picked to finish second. Kansas City and 2014 WAC Tournament champions, Utah Valley, were picked tied for fourth while Bakersfield rounded out the poll at sixth.
Seattle University softball also earned three spots on the Preseason All-WAC team as Isabella Geronimo (San Mateo, Calif.), Lisa Maulden (Maple Valley, Wash.), and Bubba Morrow (Auburn, Wash.) were named to the team.
The Redhawks return all five of their 2014 All-WAC honorees including Geronimo, Maulden, and Morrow, all First Teamers, as well as Jenny Hurst (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) and reigning WAC Freshman of the Year Lindsay Davis (Palo Cedro, Calif.).
Seattle U opens the 2015 season at the Kajikawa Classic at Arizona State in Tempe, Ariz. next weekend. They will also compete at the Wilson-Demarini Desert Classic (UNLV – Las Vegas, Nev.), Santa Clara Bronco Classic (Santa Clara – Santa Clara, Calif.), and the Louisville Slugger Invitational (Long Beach State – Long Beach, Calif.) in the opening month of the season.
