The Redhawks won the first doubles match in the No. 3 spot before the Bobcats evened the tally at No. 1 doubles. SU would clinch the point with a win at No. 2 doubles, 7-6(3), to take the 1-0 lead in the match.
In singles play, the Redhawks and Bobcats each won two matches in the first four to finish. SU’s Barbara Carey (Seattle, Wash.) and Kristen James (Lubbock, Texas) would finish the match with a pair of wins to clinch the 5-2 Seattle U victory.
The Redhawks finish the busy weekend with a match at Eastern Washington on Sunday, Jan. 25 at 10 am. The team will face Boise State and Weber State in Boise, Idaho next weekend to finish the month of January.
