En route to their first place finish, James and Kwee defeated Teris Jennings and Alexandra Makashov from CSU Los Angeles, 8-0, Andrea Duva and Jennifer Andra from UC Irvine, 8-4, and Mari Taslagyan and Samantha Judan from CSU Northridge, 8-5.
Also in doubles play, Barbara Carey (Seattle, Wash.) and Madison Maloney (Idaho Falls, Idaho) were able to advance past the first round in the black doubles bracket and earned another win in the black consolation bracket, but could not advance further. Kelli Woodman (Denver, Colo.) and Michelle Lui (Bellevue, Wash.) also earned a win in the red consolation doubles bracket. In the white consolation bracket, Audrey Scott (Austin,Texas) and Kailyn Skjonsby (Grapeview, Wash.) earned a pair of wins over teams from UC Riverside.
Maloney won a pair of matches versus opponents from UC San Diego and Portland in black singles consolation play while Skjonsby defeated opponents from CSU Los Angeles and Portland in the white singles bracket.
