“This is the most successful weekend we’ve had in a long time, so it’s very exciting for us,” said head coach Mark Frisby.
Highlighting Saturday’s consolation singles action, Barbara Carey (Seattle, Wash.) defeated Sayaka Tsugai of Cal Poly, 6-3, 5-7, 1-0(3) while Michelle Lui (Bellevue, Wash.) and Kelli Woodman (Denver, Colo.) defeated a pair of student-athletes from UC Davis.
On Sunday, Lui and Woodman won their respective doubles match, defeating Washington State’s number one doubles team, 8-0.
Lui, Woodman, and Madison Maloney (Idaho Falls, Idaho) also earned wins in singles play on Sunday versus Gonzaga, Oregon, and San Francisco, respectively.
