Seattle University men’s tennis began their 2014 fall season at the UP Fall Scramble in dual matches vs. the Portland Pilots each day. The matches did not count towards team totals, but only as individual scores.
On Saturday, the Redhawks played two rounds of four doubles matches, winning at the No. 3 spot in the first round. In singles action, SU won four of eight matches played.
On Sunday, Seattle U won three of four doubles matches while winning two of seven singles matches.
John Stormans (Olympia, Wash.), Matt Alderson (Bainbridge, Wash.), and Tanner Berkabile (Las Vegas, Nev.) played their first collegiate matches as Redhawks this weekend.
The Redhawks head east to Cheney, Wash. next weekend to take part in the EWU Invitational hosted by Eastern Washington University on Sept. 26-28. Stay tuned to GoSeattleU.com for all the latest on the team.
