Seattle University softball (4-11) struck early and often as hot at-bats powered the Redhawks to a commanding 10-1 win over Loyola Marymount (2-6) in five innings.

"Today was a new day and we made some good adjustments at the plate," said head coach Dan Powers. "Our offense put the ball in play and made things happen. Lindsay hit her spots and our defense supported her. It was a big win for us."

In similar fashion to the previous day’s contest, Loyola Marymount scored first, as Breeanna Sandoval scored an unearned run as Stephanie Maciel reached on a fielder’s choice.

The Redhawks added five runs in the first inning and four more in the second, as Isabella Geronimo (San Mateo, Calif.) kicked off the contest with a single up the middle, scoring the first run. Paige Bouska (Keizer, Ore.) and Bubba Morrow (Auburn, Wash.) would also come around to score and Brianna Guerrero (Buena Park, Calif.) and Jenny Hurst (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) closed out the inning on a 2RBI single by Sarah Petosa (Federal Way, Wash.).

After a quick three-and-out for the Lions in the second, Geronimo started off the second inning with another single up the middle, as the Redhawks had batted through the order in the first inning. Geronimo scored on a bases loaded walk before Guerrero hit a 2RBI double to right field to score Morrow and Bouska. Lisa Maulden (Maple Valley, Wash.) would later score as Petosa was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

Another three-and-out for LMU in the top of the third, Maulden added a solo home run to center field for insurance in the bottom of the inning. The Redhawks stranded an LMU runner on base in both the fourth and fifth innings to seal the victory.

Geronimo, Bouska, Morrow, and Maulden each scored two runs apiece, while Geronimo had a team-high two hits. Maulden and Petosa each recorded a squad-leading three RBIs each.

In the circle, Lindsay Davis (Palo Cedro, Calif.) earned the win, giving up just one run on one hit while walking two. Three different Lions made appearances in the circle, with Rachael Farrington allowing the majority of scoring, giving up seven runs on five hits in one inning of work. Stephanie Crist and Andy Wellins entered in relief.
