Seattle University men’s tennis (2-3) earned the doubles point early and continued domination as they defeated George Fox, 7-0, in their only match on the weekend.
Zach Kosanke (Bellevue, Wash.) started off singles play with a win, 6-1, 6-0, over Preston Mann before Kevin Lynch (Colorado Springs, Colo.) defeated Chris Lilley, 6-1, 6-2. Riley Newman (Whidbey Island, Wash.) then earned a win at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-1.
George Fox’s Justin McClain and Nick Grafton took Will Topp (Olympia, Wash.) and Ian Clare (Sachse, Texas) to a tiebreaker in their respective matches, but the Redhawks also earned wins at No. 2 and No. 5 singles.
Connor Leahy (Portland, Ore.) finished the match with a win at No. 6 singles to clinch the sweeping victory.
Seattle U returns to action next weekend with a trip to Utah facing Utah State on Friday, Feb. 7, Utah on Saturday, Feb. 8, and Weber State on Sunday, Feb. 9.
