As the fall season winds down for the Seattle University baseball team, the players were able to show off their skills to professional baseball scouts in the annual Scout Day Sunday, Oct. 6, at Steve Cox Memorial Park in White Center.

Redshirt sophomore Avery Kain (Kent, Wash.) and freshman Brock Carpenter (Milton, Wash.) both showed off their power, hitting three home runs apiece during the intrasquad scrimmage set up by the Seattle U coaching staff. The event is set up by the coaches to give the scouts a chance to observe the Redhawk players in a practice situation, which many people believe is as important as how they perform in games.

The Seattle University baseball team is preparing for its second season within the Western Athletic Conference, which for baseball welcomes newcomers Chicago State, Grand Canyon, North Dakota, Northern Colorado, Texas-Pan American, and Utah Valley to join returning members Bakersfield, New Mexico State, and Sacramento State.
