The Seattle University men's swim team did not advance anyone into the evening finals as the first day of the 64th annual Husky Invitational, hosted by the Husky Swimming Foundation, began at the Weyerhauser King County Aquatic Center.

Douglas Pizac (Salt Lake City, Utah) finished 33rd in the 500 freestyle, posting a time of 4:44.52, his best mark so far this year by almost four full seconds. In the 200 individual medley, James Gilmore (Eugene, Ore.) finished in 46th place overall with a time of 1:57.81, followed by Gabe Wheeler (Round Rock, Texas) in 79th place in 2:00.60 and Sam Donohue (Portland, Ore.) in 151st place in 2:05.97, season-best times for the two freshmen.

The Seattle U men's swim team will be busy Saturday, with representatives in the 200 medley relay, the 400 individual medley, the 100 butterfly, the 200 freestyle, the 100 breaststroke, the 100 backstroke, and the 800 freestyle relay. Preliminaries are scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m., with the finals session set to start at 6:00 p.m.
