The Seattle University men's golf team ended the OGIO UCSB Intercollegiate Tuesday with a ninth-place finish at the Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbarba, Calif.
Ian Dahl (Longview, Wash.) led all Seattle U players on the day with a final round 74 (+2). He finished the tournament with a collective 223 (+7) to tie for 25th place individually.
The next three Redhawk scorers finished within two strokes of each other. At 227 (+11) lies Rob Seibly (Spokane, Wash.), who began the day tied for eighth, but fell back into a tie for 36th. Finishing one strike behind Seibly was Paul Pavlos (Woodinville, Wash.), who ended the tournament with a final round 83 (+11) and tied for 39th. Preston Matchett (Billings, Mont.) finished in a tie for 44th after shooting a cumulative 229 (+13) over the two-day tournament.
Quin Koplitz (Enumclaw, Wash.) finished three strokes behind Matchett after firing another 77 (+5). He ended with an overall score of 232 (+16) and tied for 54th.
The Redhawks' three-day combined score was 900, 36 strokes above par. Long Beach State took the team title at 854 (-10), while the 49ers' Xander Schauffele lead all golfers with a score of 208 (-8).
Seattle U now faces a three week break before heading to their final tournament of the season: the America Sky Conference Championship. The conference tournament will be held April 29-May 1 at Lake of Isles in Ledyard, Conn.
