2011-12: At America Sky Conference Championship (April 29-May 1), finished in 31st with score of 241 (+25) ... fired 229 (+13) at OGIO UCSB Intercollegiate (April 2-3), finishing T-39 ... went 2-1 at Lamkin Grip Cal Poly Challenge (March 22-23), including 4&2 victory over South Dakota State's Greg Fehrman ... led team at Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational Feb. 13-14 by taking 154 strokes (+10) and tying for 54th.
2010-11: Shot +4 to tie for 42nd place at the Palouse Cougar Collegiate...tied for 20th place with fellow teammate Ian Dahl at St. Martin's Invitational... tied for 20th place shooting +10 at the Cal Poly Firestone Grill Invite...placed 8th overall shooting even-par at the Kauai Collegiate Invitational ... Preston shot an average of 72.75 for the season.
2009-10: Opened the season shooting +27 for a 71st-place finish at Plaouse Collegiate ... followed by placing 64th, shooting +14 at St. Martin's Invitational ... had another 64th-place performance with a +19 at the Thunderbird Invitational ... ended the season shooting +22 and finishing 108th at the Cowboy Classic.
High School: Matchett appeared in three state golf tournaments representing Billings Central Catholic High School, winning the state title in 2009. A co-captain on the varsity golf team, he earned an 11-0-1 record in match play and earned three all-conference honors as well as two all-state awards. He was a member of the Junior America's Cup team as well as the Montana-Alberta Ryder Cup squad. Matchett also played basketball for the Rams, earning all-conference honors and setting a school record for most charges drawn in one game.
Personal: Matchett's parents are Tom and Jodi Matchett, and he has one older sister (Alecia Tuttle - 23). Born July 20, 1991, he is majoring in business administration and marketing. In high school, he was a member of several organizations, including the National Honor Society, the French Club, the Math Club, and the Breakfast Exchange Club.
