Paced by Rob Seibly's (Spokane, Wash.) 139 (-3), the Seattle University men's golf team improved by 14 strokes from the first round to the second round, ending Monday in a tie for eighth place at the Dash Thomas Memorial, hosted by Boise State at BanBury Golf Course.

Seibly shot two-over-par 73 in the first round before posting a score of five-under-par 66 in the second round to move up from a tie for 27th place into a tie for ninth place after 36 holes. He is tied for third among the golfers with 10 birdies and is six-under-par on the par-five holes, tied for fifth among the field.

Quin Koplitz (Enumclaw, Wash.) put together rounds of 72 (+1) and 73 (+2) to finish the day in a tie for 29th place with a cumulative score of 145 (+3). After opening the tournament with a first-round 78 (+7), Will Holdridge (Lynden, Wash.) improved to shoot 69 (-2) in the second round for a 36-hole total of 147 (+5) to land in a tie for 33rd place.

Both Ian Dahl (Longview, Wash.) and Paul Pavlos (Woodinville, Wash.) shot 77 (+6) in each round to end the day in a tie for 50th place with a cumulative score of 154 (+12). Playing as individuals, Alec Pakzad (Bellevue, Wash.) is in a tie for 35th place after rounds of 73 (+2) and 75 (+4) gave him a two-round total of 148 (+6), while Alex Dow (Sacramento, Calif.) posted scores of 73 (+2) and 76 (+5) for a cumulative score of 149 (+7) to end the day in a tie for 38th place.

As a team, Seattle University combined for a first-round score of 299 (+15) before a second-round total of 285 (+1) led to a two-round score of 584 (+16), tied with Utah State for eighth place. San Jose State holds a commanding 18-stroke lead after two rounds with a 36-hole total of 542 (-26), led by Jay Myers, who sits atop the individual standings by two strokes after shooting 131 (-11) in the first two rounds.

The third and final round will begin Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. local time, with players teeing off from the first and 10th holes.
