The Seattle University men's tennis team struggled Saturday at the EWU Fall Classic, hosted by Eastern Washington at the EWU Tennis Courts.
In singles action, Jason Bediones (Kent, Wash.) lost to Kyle Koetje of Eastern Washington in the quarterfinals of the B-flight main draw (6-3, 6-4). In consolation matches, Simon Meske (Tacoma, Wash.) lost to Erik Sheldon of Boise State (6-4, 6-2), Yusuke Kanehira (Tokyo, Japan) fell to Daniel Coelho of Portland (6-3, 6-4), and Zachary Williams (Spokane, Wash.) lost to Gonzaga's Jack Schoebel (6-4, 6-4).
Meske and Mark Shkrebtan (Redmond, Wash.) lost in the round of 16 of the doubles bracket to Jake Davis and Levin Guillermo of Gonzaga, 8-5, as did Bediones and Andrew Anderson (Tacoma, Wash.) to Mikolaj Karuk and Mike Facey of Montana, 8-3.
The EWU Fall Classic will conclude Sunday, with play scheduled to start at 9 a.m.
