In the second day of competition against the Cougars of WSU and the Vandals of Idaho, the Seattle U women’s swim team finished third in Saturday’s relay events held at Washington State in Pullman, Wash.

Megan Kelley (Las Vegas, Nev.), Connie Rae Shobaken (Tualatin, Ore.), and Briley Boggs (Federal Way, Wash.) combined for a second-place finish in the 300 yd. butterfly relay in 3:01.42, just barely touching the pad before Washington State.

In the second event, the 200 yd. freestyle relay, the Redhawks came in third with a time of 1:41.86,  just .46 seconds behind the University of Idaho. The Redhawks also placed third in the 300 yd. freestyle (2:46.67) and the 400 Medley (4:06.38).

Washington State defeated both the University of Idaho and Seattle U in the tri-meet.

The Redhawk women, along with the men’s team, will fly to Hawaii for competition at the University of Hawaii on Oct. 15-16.
