The women placed fifth and the men sixth at the Mike Hodges Invitational on Friday evening.

At Clackamas CC in Oregon City, Ore. on Friday evening the Seattle U cross country teams competed in the Mike Hodges Invitational, with the men finishing sixth out of 17 teams and the women fifth out of 14.

In the women's 5k, Lauren Hammerle (Seattle, Wash.) led the Redhawk women with an 18th place finish in 19:14.84. Nicole Waters (Phoenix, Ariz.) came in 30th in 19:35.70 with Allison Prather (Carpinteria, Calif.) just behind her in 32nd with a time of 19:42.16. Ashley Dalton (Bellingham, Wash.) placed 49th in 20:23.48, and Mary Thompson (Simi Valley, Calif.) finished in 20:42.58.

On the men’s side, Adam Kollgaard (Kent, Wash.) ran the 4 mi. race in 20:56.30 for 18th place. Nick Cannata-Bowman (San Francisco, Calif.) finished 30th with a time of 21.08.57, and Graham Kinzel-Grubbs (Portland, Ore.) was 49th with a time of 21.32.79.

Kevin Kopetz (Derry, N.H.), Dan Auld (Eugene, Ore.), and Keenan Clinch (Sammamish, Wash.) all finished close together in 68th, 70th, and 71st respectively. Ryan Dennison (Pacifica, Calif.), Graham Miller (Spokane, Wash.), and Peter VanNuland (Newcastle, Wash.) rounded off the rest of Seattle U’s pack.

Southern Oregon placed nine runners in the top 20 to handedly win both the men’s race with 24 points, led by David Laney’s first-place finish in 19:31.17. Southern Oregon also won the women’s side with 24 points.

The Redhawks will run next Saturday, Oct. 23rd at the Beaver Classic in Corvallis, Ore. for its last preparations before the Great West Conference Championships on Oct. 30th.
