Junior Bryson Chiu (, ) won the conference title in the 200 individual medley while his teammates posted several top five performances throughout the night as continued competition at the Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference Championships Thursday night at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool.

After posting the fastest time in the morning preliminaries, Chiu easily won the evening final with a season-best time of 1:51.19, almost two seconds faster than his nearest competitor. In the “B” final of the 200 individual medley, Andrew Miron () finished third in 1:57.98 for an 11th place finish overall, while Keith Andrews (Hillsboro, Ore.) touched the wall fifth in 1:59.28 for a 13th place finish overall. Jeff Hockema (, ) won the “C” final, finishing 17th overall, with a time of 1:59.49, and Nick Hryciuk () finished 23rd overall after posting a time of 2:04.64 in the “C” final.

In the men’s 50 freestyle, Jordan Anderson (, ) and Chris Fulton (, ) finished two-three in the finals, with setting a new school record with a time of 20.56 seconds and Fulton coming in right behind him at 20.74 seconds. Doug Djang (, ) finished second in the “B” final with a time of 20.72 seconds, and Jeff Tibbals () took 15th place overall after finishing the “B” final in 21.64 seconds.

The final event of the night, the men’s 200 freestyle relay, saw the quartet of Djang, Tibbals, Fulton, and Anderson finish in second place with a school-record time of 1:22.49, just 39/100ths of a second behind the squad from UC San Diego and only 4/100ths of a second ahead of the foursome from UC Santa Cruz. In the “B” final of the 200 free relay, Andrews, Chase Winterroth (Lake Stevens, Wash.), Andrew Martinez (Concord, Calif.), and Ben Guthrie (Berkeley, Calif.) finished third for an overall 11th place finish with a time of 1:28.10.

James White () was SeattleU’s top finisher in the 500 freestyle, finishing eighth with a time of 4:43.40. earned an 11th place finish with a time of 4:46.34. The men jumped into second place in the team standings with 367 points after two days, just six points ahead of UC Santa Cruz in third place and 14 points in front of fourth place Cal Baptist.

On the women’s side, Hayley Cobb () submitted the best performance of the night, finishing in fifth place in the 200 individual medley with a school-record time of 2:07.85. Elizabeth Hanohano () finished in 21st place overall with a finals time of 2:12.27. In the women’s 500 freestyle, Kelsey Henan (, ) earned a 15th place finish with a time of 5:12.16, while Connie Rae Shobaken () finished in 20th place in 5:15.89.

Hanna Basler () was the team’s top finisher in the women’s 50 freestyle, finishing 12th in 24.55 seconds. The quartet of Hanohano, Megan Lavin (, ), , and Basler finished in sixth place in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:39.36. The foursome of Alexandra Carter (, ), Kaci Dudley (, ), Alexis Morehouse (), and Shobaken finished 15th overall after posting a time of 1:42.61 in the finals. In the team standings, the SeattleU women remained in seventh place with 205 points after two days.

Day three of the PCSC Championships takes place Friday with the 400 individual medley, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, and 400 medley relay.
