Sophomore guard Drew Harris () converted on a second chance basket with 0.8 seconds remaining to give SeattleU a 60-59 victory over the Cal Poly Mustangs Sunday night in men's basketball action at Mott Gym, the first true road victory for the SU men's basketball team as a Division I program against a Division I opponent in over 28 years.

After a timeout, Harris attempted a shot with four seconds left, but Titus blocked it. Fortunately for SeattleU, the ball fell right back into Harris’ hands, and his second attempt was successful. Cal Poly called a timeout and attempted to get off a shot as time ran out, but the Mustangs could not accomplish their goal, and had its first road victory over a Division I school as a Division I program since winning at the University of San Diego, 76-58, in the second-to-last game of the 1979-80 season.

Austen Powers () led SeattleU with 14 points, plus he pulled down eight rebounds and blocked two shots. Mike Boxley (, ) nearly earned a double-double with nine points and 15 rebounds, the highest rebounding total for a SeattleU player since Jeffrey McDaniel pulled down 16 rebounds against on Jan. 17, 2004. Boxley also picked up four steals and two assists in the game.

Harris finished the night with eight points, six assists, and four rebounds, part of a strong effort from the SeattleU bench. Aaron Broussard ( Way, ) hit all four of his field goal attempts to contribute eight points and two rebounds in 11 minutes, while Leigh Swanson () had five points and four rebounds. The Redhawks were able to pull out the victory despite getting only six points from top scorer Chris Gweth (), who entered the game averaging 13.3 points per contest.

Cal Poly tied the game twice and later came within one point four times, but thanks to a 7-0 run that included five points from Swanson, SeattleU would eventually go into the locker room at halftime ahead 35-28. In the second half, Cal Poly scored seven unanswered points to tie the game at 44-44, but SeattleU answered with six straight points of its own to retake the lead before the Mustangs made their final push in the final minutes.

Cal Poly (2-5) was led by Shawn Lewis, who scored 14 points, while Keeler finished with 10 points and five rebounds. earned nine points and seven rebounds and Trae Clark contributed eight points, four assists, two rebounds, and two steals. held a significant rebounding edge, 43-31, including 18 offensive boards that led to nine more field goal attempts.
