Kuttler tallies a goal and two assists in win

Seattle- The Seattle University women’s soccer team improved to 4-1 with a 4-0 win over , Saturday at Championship field. used four different goal scorers to win the game going away.

A hard fought first half remained scoreless until the 41st minute when freshman Kara Kuttler (, ) found Leah Wymer (, ) for a header to give the lead.  The goal was the seventh in the young season for Wymer.

In the second half, pushed their lead to two when Maria Madeira (, ), a junior transfer from , scored her first goal of the season off a corner in the 52nd minute. Kuttler earned her second assist of the day with the cross.

tallied two more goals late in the game to put away . In the 80th minute, Ashley Porter (, ) crossed a ball to Madison Collins (), who found the back of the net for the first time of the season. The assist was Porter’s seventh of the season adding to her GNAC career record.

In the 89th minute Kuttler stole the ball from keeper Emily Hart for an easy goal to cap the victory. The goal was the first of her young career for Kuttler.

Kaitlyn Jackson (, ) had two saves in goal to earn her third shutout this season for .

The victory was a milestone for head coach Julie Woodward, who now has 150 wins for her career at .

now hits the road to start the GNAC schedule for a game at on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. They return home to Championship Field on Friday, Sept. 14 at 4 p.m. for a match against ’s.
