Maria Madeira Season 2007

2008: Madeira started all 20 games during her senior season with the Redhawks. The defender contributed to the six shutouts the team recorded during the season and was credited with taking three shots.  

2007: Madeira made an immediate impact in the SU defense, starting all 21 matches and helping the team post a 0.51 goals against average and tie the school record for shutouts in a season with 13. Offensively she contributed a goal and three assists for five total points. Her goal came in Seattle's 4-0 victory over San Francisco State on Sept. 1. Madeira earned two assists in the team's 4-0 victory over Saint Martin's on Sept. 14 and also assisted on the game-winning tally at Northwest Nazarene on Sept. 26. She earned honorable mention All-GNAC recognition for her play.  

University of Idaho: Madeira was part of the University of Idaho squad in both 2005 and 2006. She was named Academic All-WAC in 2005.

Canby HS: Madeira was a four-year letterwinner for the Cougars, earning Second Team All-League honors during her freshman year and First Team All-League honors after her other three seasons. She helped her team reach the state playoffs all four years, was the team MVP her senior year, and earned honorable mention All-State recognition.

Personal: Madeira is majoring in accounting and marketing. Born December 17, 1986, she is the daughter of Matthew and Julie Madeira.
