La Salle HS: Newell was a First Team All-League performer not only in soccer, but also in basketball and softball during her senior year of high school. She led her soccer team to four consecutive league championships and two second-place state finishes. She also helped her high school basketball team to a state title as well as second and fourth place finishes. During her freshman and sophomore years, she competed on the track team, participating in the state championships.Personal: Newell is majoring in visual art. Born June 4, 1989, she is the daughter of Anne and Bruce Newell.
