Alex Jensen joined the Seattle University cross country and track & field staff as an Assistant Coach in August 2025. A familiar and respected figure within the Seattle U community, Jensen returns to the program where he competed for five years as a standout student athlete.
"I am thrilled to welcome Alex back to the program—not just as a former student athlete, but as someone who has always been a first-class ambassador of the program and university," said Head Coach Jordana LeSavage. "His passion, leadership and deep understanding of our culture makes him an incredible asset to our staff. Alex is a natural recruiter, someone who can genuinely connect with prospective student athletes and share what makes Seattle U so special."
Jensen brings a deep understanding of the Redhawk culture, having competed in both cross country and track & field from 2020–2025. He completed his collegiate racing career holding a pair of school records – the outdoor 800m run, set this past spring, and the indoor distance medley relay, set in 2024.
He earned Academic All-Western Athletic Conference honors throughout his career, was named to the Indoor Track All-WAC Second Team in 2025 and earned Seattle U Athletics' Eddie O'Brien Student Athlete of the Year award for 2024-25. In his new role, Jensen will assist with both men's and women's cross country and track & field teams, contributing to all aspects of the programs.
Jensen graduated from Seattle U with an undergraduate degree in biology. He also completed the Albers School of Business and Economics Leadership Formation Certificate program during his fifth and final year as a student athlete.
