2022 (FIFTH YEAR): Started 29 of the 35 games he appeared in ... hit .293 (36-for-123) with eight doubles, two triples and four homeruns ... had 10 multi hit games and six multi rbi games ... went 4-for-5 with two triples and three rbi vs Dixie State (3/25) ... had a 3-run pinch hit homerun vs Washington State (4/20) ... went 2-for-4 with a homerun and four rbi at Grand Canyon (5/20)
2021 (SENIOR): Started 49 of 51 games, with 42 starts at shortstop ... hit .240 (44-for-183) with five doubles, two triples and six home runs, while slugging .388 and .322 on-base percentage ... led the team in runs scored (32), multi-RBI games (8) and tied-first in triples (3), was second among team leaders in home runs (6) and RBI (29), and fourth in hits (44) ... had a three-run walk-off home run against Pacific Lutheran (4/2) ... went 3-for-4 with a run scored at Sacramento State (4/17) ... was 2-for-6 with three RBI and two runs scored at Dixie State (5/15) ... went 3-for-4 in an elimination-game with against NM State (5/28) at the WAC Tournament ... was 1-for-5 and registered a three-run home in eighth inning to help the Redhawks rally for an elimination-game win over Utah Valley (5/27) at the WAC Tournament ... was 5-for-12 with a triple, a home run and seven RBI in four games at the WAC Tournament (5/26-28).
2020 (JUNIOR): Started and played in 11 games … slugged a team-high .565 … second among team leaders in batting average (.326), while hitting four doubles and two triples … posted a .326 on base percentage … recorded a 5-for-5 outing at Boise State (3/6) with two runs, two RBI and two doubles, becoming the second player since the program’s rebirth in 2010 to register a five-hit game … went 4-for-5 with two runs at UC Riverside (2/19) … had a 3-for-5 performance vs Southern Illinois (2/23).
2019 (SOPHOMORE): Started 49 of 50 games … fifth-best among team leaders in batting average (.278) … had 52 hits, tied third on the team, with 24 runs scored … third on the team with 31 RBI … completed 6-of-9 stolen base attempts … had 17 multi-hit games … notched multiple RBI eight times … posted a season-high four RBI against New Mexico State, with two scoring in back-to-back at-bats … went 3-for-5 at UNLV (2/16), against California Baptist (4/6) and at UTRGV (4/28) … longest hit streak was five games … started the season by safely reaching base in 13-straight games (2/15-3/8).
2018 (FRESHMAN): Appeared in 43 games, starting 22 … appeared in two games as a relief pitcher, with a 6.00 ERA and two strikeouts in three innings … had a slash line of .219/.305/.260 … went 1-2 with two runs, an RBI and a stolen base against Utah Valley (5/12) … went 3-5 with a double and three runs against Puget Sound (4/23).
HIGH SCHOOL: O'Brien graduated from Archbishop Murphy High School in Brier, Wash. … was First Team All-Cascade Conference, Second Team All-Area and Second Team All-State in 2017 … Wildcats finished fifth in the district playoffs … named Team MVP … First Team All-Cascade Conference and team’s Best Defender in 2016 … team placed fourth in the district playoffs in 2016 … AMHS made the first round of state playoffs in 2015.
CLUB: Played for the Northwest Bandits from 2014-16 … played for the Everett Merchants in 2017 … runner-up in the 2017 NBC World Series.
O'Brien is the son of Debbie and Joe … has one younger sister, Elle… grandfather is Johnny O’Brien, along with his brother Eddie O’Brien, are in the Seattle University Athletics Hall of Fame… the brothers played both basketball and baseball at Seattle U … pursuing a career in sports.
